6 Teaching Beginners

Aditya, a new fifth-grade student who recently arrived from India, is aggressive toward his classmates on the school playground. He is very frustrated about his inability to communicate and lashes out when he doesn’t understand what is being said. One day, the only other Hindi-speaking student in his class was absent and Aditya couldn’t speak to his classmates at all. He became very upset, ran from the classroom, and left the school. His anger and unhappiness were apparent, and his teacher felt that there was “something wrong” with him beyond the language barrier.
